There are such strengthening and good videos on YouTube. There are good resources there. But what’s dangerous for men is the “related videos” feature.
When a video finishes playing, several “related” videos are shown across the video’s area in thumbnail format. In the same way that the movie previews you’d see in the theater which, though “approved for all audiences”, invariably have some among their number that do their best not to leave a man with any purity of mind or fear of God, these “related videos” on YouTube are not safe. They are the worst thing about YouTube. Beware, men of God! Guard your eyes!
I’ve refrained from sending a YouTube link to friends because of the related videos at the end. Sharing the video was not important enough to risk the enticement to sin that the thumbnails at the end represented.
Today I learned of a feature that can help with this for those of us who embed or send links to YouTube videos: &rel=0 .
When you send a link to a YouTube video, instead of just sending (for instance) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OxbRdxbBROI you can send http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OxbRdxbBROI&rel=0 …and then when the recipient plays it it will not show related videos at the end. This also works when you embed the video (on WordPress anyway). There may still be a thumbnail for a single “Up Next” video. At least this is a step in the right direction.
